My Collection room evolution!
So I had a very busy past year. I moved into a new home and finally had enough space to create the Collection room I have always dreamt about. It was a long process but needless to say I am VERY happy with the results.

It all started with a blank canvas. (As they say) You see, I had these two adjoining rooms that are a den and a sunroom. The den is not very big, but it was to be a computer room and whoever owned the home before we did added on this sunroom to the house, which was very nice, but all I could see was the perfect place for my Collection!

So first, I put in a new carpet, and then I painted the walls in the sunroom. The den had this light wallpaper on it and was easy to clean and it would of been a real job to take it down and then paint so I decided to keep it. I then began to paint one of my retail display cases black.

I did want to make a space for my Television and Home Theatre system, so I made sure to keep that in my plans. I had a couch for the room as well, but then I got to thinking, "who needs a couch in a collection room?" "That's for suckers!" lol. So I got rid of the couch.

All in all I have 6 Ikea Detolf display cases, 2 large retail Display cases, 2 medium retail display cases, 4 black pedestals that I made myself, a shadow box for my Lucha Libre items, and a case I made for the Conan the Barbarian Sword.

I also added this cool coffee table I got on craigslist and put my Lego Millennium Falcon in it. (soon to be home to the much larger and more expensive Ultimate Collectors version)

I put up some cool movie posters and art to really give the room a movie/collectible room feel and that's it! But I have to say one thing, as I am sure you other collectors will relate to, I feel like I need more room! If I could only fit 2 or 3 more cases in here it would be perfect!

I have to say that I really enjoy this room. I love watching television here and just hanging out. Every time someone comes over they always want to take a tour of the room and I am more than happy to oblige.

Now if I could only make another addition to the house.....
